It was a crazy morning today at work. We were full in the kennels with dogs and did a 2 hour surgery.
We didn't get done till 2:00!!
We had to draw blood on a few animals, and we ran a heart worm test.
A dog came in that had gotten into a fight with another animal so we had to get him cleaned up. MiKaela (a senior who is doing a work base at the vet) and I got to furminate a cat.
We took an Xray of a dogs leg...neutered a cat...and then we started our long surgery.
We took 19 warts of this dog and 3 fatty tumors! Poor dog got a make over...the vet way!! LOL

When I got home, I mowed the lawn then worked in the greenhouse.

Today wasn't too busy of a day. We did blood work on two dogs and a cat.
We did a cat dental and a cat neuter/declaw. We also had a dog come in that is really sick.
He started throwing up last night and has a really sore abdomen. Dr. Benson did blood work on him and found out he's either in kidney failure, or has Pancreatitis and is in Reno failure. Poor thing, he's really sick!

Last week, I only had to work one day!! Cherokee had their spring break so one of the kennel kids (Blake!) worked for me. It was nice having some time off...even though I spent the whole week working at the greenhouse.

Interesting

This has been a pretty interesting week at the vet so far. Even though it's only Tuesday, we've had some crazy things come up at work.
Yesterday we did surgery on 10lbs. dog. He had a huge tumor (The size of a baseball!) right on his neck, underneath his chin. The tumor went right over the jugular vein so we had to be extremely careful!
Thankfully it was just a fatty tumor (Which means the tumor was just made of fat..it was not cancerous or anything.) and it came off very easily! I will post some pictures once I get on the right computer...hopefully tonight or tomorrow!

Today we had a dog come in that has terrible skin. She is covered in scabs. We took a few biopsy's so hopefully we can figure out what is causing this. We shaved her and cleaned her up good for now.
We also did two cat spays today. One cat we found out is ringworm positive!!! We did not expect that at all..so I shaved her completly, after we did her surgery.

As of now, I'm sitting in a coffee shop (Crazy I know, since it is 71 degrees outside!!) drinking a wonderful White Chocolate, Caramel, Toffee Moo. A Moo is just like a steamer. And a steamer is just like a cappuchino but with milk instead of coffe. If ya'll didn't know! LOL

My week

This has been a very busy week at the vet!
Yesterday we did 2 surgeries. The first one was on  a 150 lbs bloodhound. It took 3 of us to lift him on the surgery table. It was quite a sight! LOL
We took 2 different tumors off of him. One was on his ear flap and the other tumor was actually way down in his ear cannal.
Our 2nd surgery was on a pig! We don't usually do many pig surgeries...since we are on the small animal side of the vet but this pig will be a prize winning show pig someday! I don't remember what the surgery was on him...it was a hernia, I think.

After I get home from work, I usually do some school or cleaning the house.
Last night Melissa and I went to the highschools Pops Concert! It was fun watching my friends in the choir and/or band!

Dr. Benson wasn't in the office today so Dr. Friedrichse filled in for him. We only had 1 surgery but that dog was a knuckle head! He cut me in a few different places because he kept jumping around.
We also have a dog under our care that is really constipated. We gave her enema's yesterday and today, they help for a little bit but then she gets plugged up again! It's really sad to see her suffer.

Now I'm back at home, doing more cleaning and school. Tonight we have a concert at church which I'm pretty excited for! The choir from Northwestern college will be doing an Acapella concert for us!!
