Crazy Summer

This has just been a crazy summer for me!! First of all I was in the summer play "Seussical". That got done at the end of June.
On July 23rd I left with my youth group on a missions trip to New York/New Jersey. It was an amazing trip...but that trip is a WHOLE nother blog! LOL
We spent a week ministering in NY and NJ.
I spent three days up at State Fair the 2nd week of August with my friend. He showed horses and chickens!!!
Then August 15, I started working as the assistant vet at Valley Vet Center. I will now be working full time as the assistant for however long they need me!! Which means I have to be to work by 7:30 :( and it just depends on the day for how long I stay there!!
I've been having so much fun and learning a lot just in the past 2 weeks of working...I am very tired but know God will give me the strength I need.
On top of working almost full time, I've started some school, this past week I've been taking care of Caly (the dog!!!), hanging out with my best friend Blake (riding horses, doing chores, hanging out!!!!!), playing piano, taking care of my own animals, and just trying to keep my sanity!!

I love everything that I've been doing but I must confess that I'm very tired. I haven't been as strong spiritually...and we just learned that my dad has Chronic  Leukemia:(
Things have been stressful, especially around my house!! But as my dad keeps reminding me, "God has a reason for all of this...we shouldn't ask Him why but for what purpose is He doing this!"

Fun Times:-)

This past Wednesday I worked for Jackie (the assistant vet) in the morning.
I invited my friend, Blake, to come hang out with me and watch surgeries.

After we got done with the normal kennel work, we "learned" how to clean the bull room...it was kind of disgusting but a lot of fun doing it with Blake.
He scooped up the poop and I hosed down the floor...then we'd switch!

We had some extra time to kill after we got that done so we just hung out, ate yummy popcorn, and talked.
Small animal surgeries start at 10:00 a.m. We only had two dog spays, and hooking up a dog to I.V. fluids, so nothing too exciting!

We both decided on eating at Godfathers after we got done at the vet.
After we finished eating, Blake came over and helped me make ham balls (actually he pretty much just watched me and laughed at the mess I was making!!!!)

I went back to the vet around 4:15 to get the surgery room cleaned up and Blake had to go home and do chores.
It didn't take me too long to get everything cleaned up.

I went home and got ready to go to play practice.
Play practice went really good...we pretty much just focused on singing....not so much the acting!!
All of us kids were in goofy moods afterwards so we were goofing off and laughing a lot!!!

Whitney and Blake came over to my house after play practice to watch a movie.
We watched "The Man from Snowy River", talked, laughed, and ate!!

I had a awesome day!!!

Suessical

This spring I decicded to audition for the Cherokee Community summer theatre. This years play is "Suessical the Musical". Not to many people have heard of this play (I hadn't!) but it is a bunch of Dr. Suess books/stories all mixed together.
I got the part of a jungle creature...so I'm pretty much just in the chorus! I'm so excited to be a part of this!

Sometimes the practices can get kind of long and a little stressful but it's so much fun.
I love hanging out with all those people...hanging with old friends and making new ones.
I'm in 9 different scenes and have a few "behind the scenes" things I get to do.

I would like to invite y'all to come watch me...here are the dates and times of the performance:
June 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26 starting at 7:30.
There will be a special matinee on the 25th starting at 2:00 p.m.

I'll probably blog some more about rehersal and other things later but I just wanted to share this awesome experience with everyone!!!!

What's Been Happening

Things can get so busy...wherever you are!!!
Here are a few things that I have up to the past few weeks.
This past weekend, Kristen, Melissa, Paige, Faye, and I went to a flower design show in Sioux Falls.
We had a lot of fun...and saw a lot of new cool things!

Our youth group took a group of us up to Sioux Falls on the 17 of February to see Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio. Wow it was an amazing concert!
I felt God's presence and I just knew that He was at work in people's lives...including mine!

Last Thursday, my sister and I attented the Pops Concert at the high school. It was so much fun to see and hear our friends in the band, and choir.
It was so good to see some of my friends that I don't get to see very often...and of course the ones I do see a lot! lol
I don't know what I did to deserve such amazing friends.

We also got a group of friends to go bowling...we had so much fun!! I even won two games...lol!

Today I went to work. I love my job at the vet. Sometimes it can get really stressful but I get to do what I love! Things have been going really good there the past few weeks too! I've made some lasting friendships with the people I work with...and I'm so blessed to have this job!

Now my sisters and I are scrapbooking and watching "High School Musical"...haha it's actually a pretty good movie. lol

I'll blog again soon!

Hero

He walked the dirty streets. Famous for nothing.
He said “come follow me” and they came.
A face like all the rest.
But something was different.
The Son of God would lead the way.
And soon they all would say.

There He goes - a hero. A savior to the world.
Here He stands with scars in His hands.
With love He gave His life so we could be free.
The Savior of the world.

He spoke with clarity. Walked across the sea.
A single word would calm the storm.
His touch could heal the sick, but He was called a hypocrite.
Laid behind the stone. His death was shortly mourned. He left the curtain torn.

There He goes - a hero. A savior to the world.
Here He stands with scars in His hands.
With love he gave His life so we could be free.
The Savior of the world.

He choose to take the cross. Shed tears for the lost, the broken, and the needy.
Forgiving those who were and will be.
The angel made it clear. He told them have no fear.
He’s not here. He’s not here!

There He goes - The Hero. The Savior to the world.
Here He stands with scars in His hands.
With love He gave his life so we could be free.
The Savior of the world. The Savior of the world. The Savior of the world.

This is one of my favorite songs at the moment...So I thought I'd share it with everyone!! It's called "Hero" by a group called Abandon.
It is one of the most beautiful songs...so I'm going to attach a link with the song!! Make sure to check it out!

My Amazing Friends:)

WOW!!! I have amazing friends!! lol this is kind of a random thought/post..but I want to center this one all on you guys...my friends!! The one's I talk to all the time, the ones I don't see very much...maybe don't even really talk to you that much...but you're all very special to me!!
I don't even know how to express my thoughts on this. Ya'll have such an impact on me...I hope I have a good impact on you too.
God has taught me a lot...especially through my friends. Some of the memories aren't the best and some are just amazing...but each one has helped me in my life...no matter how painful it was or how exciting it was.
I don't wish for one minute that one of you weren't in my life...ya'll have a special place in my heart...and I'm so blessed to call you my friends!!!
I love to listen to you, to hear what's going on in all of your lives....your struggles, exciting times...everything!
I hope I can be a good friend...and set a Christ-like example in this messed up world.
Thanks so much you guys, for everything...for being my friend!!

"I can be there for you when it can't get much harder
I can cover your head when life starts to rain
I can hold on tight when you feel like you're falling
I can bread crumb the path when you've lost your way
I can make you laugh when the whole world is crying
I can build you up when you're broken in shame
But if all that we do is absent of Jesus, then this so called love is completely in vain..."
This So Called Love-MercyMe

Here's some pictures of ya'll!!! ENJOY:)

Bethany

Yesterday I talked to Bethany on the phone for a half and hour! She's been in England for a few months, and I don't get to talk to her that often.
We had a really nice conversation! She was telling me somethings that she was having problems with and vice versa for me.
I don't even realize how much I do miss you...we have so many great memories together!
We've gone on a trip to South Dakota just the two of us, listened to awesome music in the van with the bass up and the windows down (lol), we used to go to the Wellness Center 3 times a week together and we learned how to play racquet ball (I remember getting hit by the ball in the head, arm, leg, etc. by Bethany! haha) we even did a Zumba class together at the Wellness Center (wow! That was hilarious!!) and so many more.
I'm so proud of Bethany for what she's doing and how's she is staying strong even under so much pressure! God has blessed me with an amazing family that I too often take for granted! and a big sister that no one can ever replace!

Bethany, I love you!!

Luke 9:23-27
And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.
"For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?
"For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
"But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God."
